Unable to connect PS3/Wii etc to WiFi Dog with authentication turned on

I'm working for a property management company and require some urgent help.

We are currently pushing out wifi dog into all of our 350 houses in which each house lives 6 tenants we have found it brilliant so far and the authentification is a brilliant way of keeping track of individual users rather than just dishing out a WPA key. But we want to be able to give access to the PS3's & Wii's but cant connect to the wireless as it requires authentification and cant get to the auth screen on the consoles as it requires a connection to their server to be activated before you complete the wireless connection setup.

I have tried enabling a firewall rule to allow it access to the playstation and wii gaming site it tries to comnnect to when it first picks up the wireless but im having no luck any help would be a great as a get around without shite security

Hi,

you either need to whitelist the console on the node or add each of the relivant domains that nintendo/sony/microsoft use to the walled garden. there is more information about this in: http://dev.wifidog.org/wiki/doc/developer/SupportingDevicesWithNoWebBrowser

Any idea why the Wii would now not see the AP with wifi dog on it yet it see's loads of other AP's ?

Is there a list of server names/address' for each gaming machine as I can't seem to find one anywhere

http://www.cubed3.com/topic/19260/ is a good reference point. I am trying to get more information from Nintendo at the moment, but it is like squeezing water from a potato :).

you could try changing the wireless channel, sometimes Wii's cant see very high channels, also, see if changing the SSID to one without spaces or special charaters.

If possible, please can you use the mailing list to continue this conversation. This is not really a bug and is a duplicate feature request. You should get more response from there anyway!!!

Putting this as duplicate as technically already a feature request and wont be fixed anytime soon.
