| | Hi, |
| | |
| | Recentley started playing with wifidog and was pleased to get it working on openwrt inside a Buffalo Airstation. |
| | |
| | However, whilst experimenting with the Auth Server I noticed something which is not mentioned on the Auth server install documentation - the auth server cannot be run on Windows. Apart from most people spitting and saying "who would want to" I think its worth pointing out in the documentation. |
| | |
| | The reasons discovered so far to not just extend to IIS - they would apply to Apache too on the Windows platform. |
| | |
| | PHP under Windows does not support the PHP Posix extension module (which by the way you don't seem to mention is a prerequisite). This causes install.php to fail bigtime. |
| | |
| | I hard coded install.php to see if this could be worked around and got as far as the permissions check working - but then the system needs to download and compile smarty and at this point I gave up - realising I didn't have a suitable compiler on my webserver. |
| | |
| | I don't know if the install is the only area that would be affected but I expect that large chunks of wifidog's auth server may be affected. |
| | |
| | Please change the first line of your Auth install instructions to read : |
| | |
| | "A working web server with PHP5. Apache httpd server is recommended. Using a virtual host is also a good idea. DON'T USE A WINDOWS PLATFORM" |
| | |
| | Thanks and good luck. I'll be building a BSD box shortly.... |
