Component: Gateway and Auth server Keywords:

Description (Last modified by max-horvath)

Allow the auth server to lookup nearby hotspots for an active session that matches the current MAC address. Combined with a good addressing plan, this will allow correct operation in hotspots in overlapping coverage zones.

just to prepare discussion about it:

why not just ask the auth server if the client (MAC) has been already connected in another nodes of the network ?

I have made a first pass at this so that the gateway passes the mac address to the auth server on the initial redirection HTTP connection.

The auth server will still need to be modified to look at this mac address, decide if it is pre-authenticated or just another mac from a random user, and do the appropriate thing.
